Series of documents dealing with military campaigns against Apache Indians; summary of Indian activities and hostilities against the Spaniards; military operations against Indians resulted in the recovery of horses, cattle and the capture of Indians who were taken prisoners and cut their ears off, some Indians were decapitated; chart in this document condenses outcome of military actions against Indians (number of prisoners, combat casualties, Indians killed and animals recovered); military operation is organized and leaves in pursuit of Indian leader who escaped from coachi; letter is sent to the viceroy giving notice of Apache leader being resettled in presidio of Tupson. Summary
Series of documents concerning reports on military status of provincias Nueva Vizcaya and Sonora. Documents show charts contrasting figures of military personnel, weapons, ammunition, prisoners, sick soldiers and war casualties. Footnotes in every chart present a list of novedades occurred in the presidios between presidios, need for weapons, inventories of military supplies. Some charts contain lists (figures only), of Indian women, men and children in presidios, agricultural work, horses, mules, troop's check ups, etc. These footnotes are presented in diary form giving the day and the month of the event. Summary
Series of documents concerning reports of military forces that are available or incomplete in the various provincias del poniente. Documents include chart of comparative figures on military personnel, Indian prisoners, inventories of war supplies, ill soldiers, religious personnel and military in charge of presidios, military exercise and training, weapons and ammunition making, military escorts authorized, campaigns against Indians, postal services, target practices for soldiers, and a variety of events related to the activities proper of the presidios life. Documents include figures only. Names of people and military officials can be found in the chart foot notes. Against indians who have stolen horses and cattle from haciendas; governor of New Mexico reports that he has been sick from his eyes and gives account of military actions against indian lipanes; series of letters reporting on good conduct of indians who have made peace with Spaniards, letters mention good treatment towards indians; report is given about problems in catching captain lipan ynx-intle who hides in the mountains; military campaign is organized to drive indian chief out of the mountains; report about indians being organized for agricultural work; report is given about raid organized against indian rebels using indian auxiliaries; comanches attacked Apaches killing some women and the indian chief; governor demonstrated his gratitude to indians for success of operations against Apaches and gives gifts to the indian auxiliaries. Series of documents dealing with gubernatorial correspondence against Indians, prisoners are taken, 32 casualties are inflicted on Indian forces including women and children; Capitancillo antel turned himself in after his Father capitancillo Chiquito was devoured by a bear; military campaign is launched against Indians who had stolen horses, actions left several soldiers killed by Indians in a prolonged battle; Lipanes surrendered and went to live at the presidios after they were offered good treatment; report is given that Indians are engaged in a controversy among themselves, situation that would favor an alliance with Spaniards; statistical chart showing number of Indians who are in peace with Spaniards, chart includes men, women and children in rancherias which are named with the name of the Indian leader. Concerns letters reporting on military campaigns against details of military actions against Indian rebels, several charts are included summarizing the results of military actions such as number of Indians and soldiers killed in combat, horses. Other letters mention fight among Indians resulting in several casualties. Report on novedades in provincias del Poniente such as Indian robberies and military campaigns. Letter recommending captain de la concha break relationship between Indian Yutas and Apaches. Notice is given about Indians willing to make peace with Spaniards and make alliance in order to revenge Indian Lipanes.
